Physics and Astronomy (0321)

Graduate studies and research, both theoretical and experimental, are offered in Astronomy and Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics (Electronic properties, Biological and soft matter, Optics), in Particle and Physics, and additional, cross-disciplinary topics involving physical insight.

The M.Sc. program has to be completed within four semesters, and includes general core courses in physics, additional core courses in the particular field-of-choice, elective courses, and the submission of a research thesis addressing a research project. We recommend taking at least five courses during the first year of study.

Admission Requirements

Applicants to graduate studies in Physics must have a minimum grade point average of 85 eather in Physics or a closely-related field.  The Admissions Committee will interview the candidates with grade point averages between 80 and 84 and will consequently decide on the acceptance of such candidates. The committee may impose special requirements on students that must be fulfilled during the course of study.

Students who have completed both their undergraduate studies and their first year of graduate studies with distinction  are eligible to be considered for a program of direct studies towards the Ph.D. degree, as specified in the relevant guidelines.
