Studies leading to the D.M.D. degree (0191)
Completion time for the program is six years, as follows:
- Pre-clinical studies – three years.
- Clinical studies – three years.
Registration and Admission for the First Year only. Registration ends on April 19, 2025. Candidates can apply to Dental Medicine as their first choice or as a second choice if the first choice is Medicine.
Eligibility
Israeli Citizens (Including foreign citizens with the status of Resident - holders of a blue Israeli identity card) with a minimum score of 640 on the Psychometric.
SAT/ACT scores will not be accepted for D.M.D School of Dental Medicine as a substitute to the Psychometric Entrance exam.
Knowledge of Mathematics
All candidates are required for knowledge of Mathematics equivalent to at least 4 units.
English Language Requirements
Candidates must achieve an Advanced 2 Level grade of at least 120 in the English Placement Examination within the framework of the Psychometric Examination, or in the Amir Exam . Another option is to successfully complete an "Advanced 1 Level" course within the framework of the Language Unit at TAU. The score must be submitted by 08.06.2025 .
Students must reach an exempt level before the beginning of the second year.
Hebrew Language Requirements
Students who hold certificates from abroad must reach "Level Gimel" (a score of at least 105 points in "Yael" exam).The score must be submitted by 08.06.2025 .
Applicants to the Tel Aviv University Dental Medical School undergo a qualifying procedure:
- Meeting minimum admission requirements
- Admittance Exam includes topics in Chemistry or Physics and Mathematics and additional visual perception test
- Assessment day, which includes various tasks and personal interview
- Applicants with highest "Hat'ama" for Dental Medicine score will be accepted

Matriculation Grade Equivalencies
Candidates with qualifications from abroad are permitted to substitute their matriculation grades as follows:
- Academic Education from Recognized Institutions Abroad Candidates, who have studied in a recognized institution abroad and have completed a minimum of 40 semester credits with a minimum grade of 80 or candidates holders of a degree with a minimum grade point average of 80. The grade point average for partial academic education or for full academic education (BA) from abroad is calculated as follows: 50% from the Psychometric examination and 50% from the grade point average of the institution from abroad. The grade average will be considered as a cumulative weighted average of all years of study that have been completed. For further information please visit our Hebrew website.
- Candidates holding a high school diploma from abroad who took the preparatory program (Mechina) in the Exact Sciences or Life Science track at Bar-Ilan University, Hebrew University or Technion with an average grade of at least 90.
- Mechina students of current academic year 2024/2025, are not eligible to apply to Medicine and Dental Medicine for the academic year 2025/26. Such students may apply at the earliest for the academic year 2026/27.
Certificates and forms required for registration:
- Form 14A-14B must be filled online (only for applicants who were accepted to the program).
- Candidates must send a copy of their identity card to the Dental Medicine mail address
- All male students are required to produce an official document from the police certifying that they have no record of sexual assaults (this year only).
- All students will be required to be vaccinated according to the Israeli Department of Health Regulations. This requirement is mandatory for passing to the second year.
- Candidates must submit to the Registration and Student Administration Division:
- Matriculation grades and transcripts of under-graduate degree studies.
- Special request for exams time extension.
