Management (1221)

The objective of the Department of Undergraduate Management Studies is to provide students with the academic knowledge and practical tools in the area of business administration. The program of studies in the department combines basic required courses in mathematics, statistics and research methods with a broad range of advanced courses in management, including finance, marketing, organizational behavior, strategy, operations research, and information systems. In addition, students are able to choose elective courses in accordance with their fields of interest. They may also choose to focus on one of the following elective course fields of study: "Entrepreneurship and Innovation", "Business Data Science"; "Financial Management and the Capital Markets"; “Innovation in Marketing”, "Managing Human Resources", *The elective course clusters will be offered depending on the number of students registering.   

The department also provides students with the experience of participating in practical projects that combine managerial consulting with community service and the possibility of study abroad.

Israel is a start-up nation, where start-up companies serve as a key engine of economic growth. Accordingly, there is a growing demand for management studies approached through an entrepreneurial lens. The objective of the new program is to provide both academic and practical knowledge in the fields of management and entrepreneurship.

The program’s uniqueness lies in its dual focus. On the one hand, it offers entrepreneurial tools and knowledge covering the entire process—from the ideation stage through the development and establishment of a new venture. In addition, the program provides core managerial knowledge in key areas such as finance, strategy, marketing, economics, information systems, and organizational behavior. Some of these fields—particularly finance, marketing, and strategy—will also be taught from an entrepreneurial perspective.

The opening of the program is subject to approval by the University’s academic authorities.

"Actuarial Science Track"- The dual-major B.A. program in Management Further more’ students have the option to select : "Actuarial Science Track":
The dual-major B.A. program in Management – Actuarial Studies is a unique and innovative track launched in the School of Management in the 2023–24 academic year.
The Management undergraduate curriculum provides students with broad academic foundations across key management fields, encouraging systematic thinking, creative problem-solving, and the development of practical skills for analyzing managerial challenges.
Graduates acquire both the relevant theoretical knowledge and a modern, effective toolkit that prepares them for careers in a dynamic global business environment, as well as advanced academic studies.

The curriculum combines core courses in mathematics, statistics, and research methods with a wide range of advanced management courses, including finance, marketing, organizational behavior, strategy, operations research, and information systems.

The program is structured as a dual-major track, and students must pair Management with an additional department. Possible combinations include: Accounting, Economics, Digital Sciences for High-Tech, Labor Studies, and Computer Science.

All studies are conducted in Hebrew.

 

Programs of Study in the Department of Management

  • Double-major BA programs of management together with a second program of study from another faculty at Tel Aviv University

The department offers double-major BA programs of management together with a second program of study from another faculty at Tel Aviv University. Popular choices for the second major are: Digital Sciences for Hi-Tech , accounting, economics, psychology and computer sciences.

  • LL.B. degree from the Faculty of Law and a BA degree in Management in the post-degree format from the Coller School of Management program in management.
    A possibility is also offered of taking an undergraduate program of studies at the Buchmann Faculty of Law together with the undergraduate program of studies in management. Graduates of this program receive an LL.B. degree from the Faculty of Law and a BA degree in Management in the post-degree format from the Coller School of Management program in management. The degree in management studies is granted only after receipt of the LL.B. degree.

 

The program requires six semesters of study (three years). The total number of semester hours ranges from 61 to 86, depending on the student’s second major. For students participating in one of the course clusters mentioned above the total number of semester hours will be updated upon registration.  

 

Classes are offered throughout the day.

 

Structure of the program

  • Basic required courses in mathematics, statistics and research methods.
  • Advanced required courses in management, including courses in economics, finance, marketing, organizational behavior, operations research, strategy, and information systems.
  • Elective courses in a range of areas, in accordance with the particular interests of the student. In addition, students are able to choose elective courses in accordance with their fields of interest. They may also choose to focus on one of the elective course: "Entrepreneurship and Innovation", "Business Data Science"; "Financial Management and the Capital Markets"; “Innovation in Marketing”; "Managing Human Resources", "Actuarial Science Track". 
  • Practical projects that incorporate consulting work and community service and social responsibility.
  • The possibility of a semester of studies at a business school abroad as well as other study-abroad opportunities such as a dual-degree program in Management and East Asian Studies in cooperation with Peking University, China.
  • A research seminar.

 

Accounting (1211)

Tel Aviv University's Department of Accounting, the leading such facility in Israel, is noted for the world-class level of its programs of study, which successfully combine a high level of theoretical material with a practical orientation. All studies are conducted in Hebrew. Graduates reach key positions in the major accounting firms, and in the business and public sectors. They are also well prepared for careers in academic research and teaching. The programs of study provide a disciplinary background and professional tools in six main areas: economics, accounting, auditing, management sciences, law, and taxation.

 

BA Program

This is a double-major program of accounting (1211) with another major of the student's choice. The student must also meet the admission requirements of the second program. The program requires at least seven semesters of study. 

 

Program for Holders of a Bachelor's (or higher) Degree

This single-major program requires at least seven semesters of study. Graduates are awarded a BA degree for completing an additional undergraduate program in accounting which is one major of a double-major undergraduate program. They also receive the same exemptions from the Israeli CPA Council examinations as graduates of the seven-semester double-major program.

 

Accounting Studies together with an LL.B.

The possibility of taking an undergraduate program of studies at the Buchmann Faculty of Law together with an undergraduate program of studies in Accounting is offered to a limited number of students. Graduates of this program receive an LL.B. degree from the Faculty of Law and a BA degree in Accounting in the post-degree format from the Coller School of Management. The degree in Accounting studies is granted only after receipt of the LL.B. degree. Students accepted for this special track are expected to complete their law studies within three and a half years with the program in accounting.

 

The program of studies in Accounting may change depending upon the requirements of the Israeli Council for Higher Education. Such changes may find expression in the length of the the studies towards the degree and in the tuition fees. 

 

Renewal of Studies

Students wishing to renew their studies after termination for academic or other reasons are required to submit a written application to the Department of Accounting presenting their reasons. The Department has the right to reverse an admission decision if the student applies directly to the Registration and Admissions Center.

 

Registration and Admission for Management and Accounting Applicants

All applicants, including those wishing to change or add programs of study, must undergo the formal registration procedures (on the usual registration dates). Those applicants wishing to register for the first semester of the 2026/27 academic year must also take the psychometric examination no later than March/April 2026 and their matriculation examinations no later than July 2026.

 

Basic Admission Requirements for Accounting and Management (1211, 1221)

All applicants must have a matriculation certificate that meets Tel Aviv University's requirements, though this does not guarantee automatic acceptance, which is dependent on demand. 

 

All applicants are required to have taken at least the 4-unit mathematics matriculation examination (out of a maximum of 5 units), or to have a score in the quantitative part of the psychometric examination of at least 140. Applicants with Advanced Placement (AP) course units in mathematics, whose registration is based on a U.S. high school diploma and SAT/ACT scores (1270 old SAT only the verbal and math sections, 1340 new SAT) or ACT (29 at least) are required to contact the Registration and Admissions Center in order to verify their eligibility to apply.

 

Applicants who meet the above-mentioned basic admission requirements will be further considered on the basis of one or more of the following criteria:

  •   An adjusted grade (derived from the psychometric score and the matriculation average) that is determined anew each year. The adjusted grade in Management is based on 70% of the psychometric grade and 30% of the weighted matriculation or preparatory course/ mechina grade.  In addition, a PME (psychometric, mathematics and English, including bonuses) score of at least 835 is required. Bonuses are added only for scores of at least 60 in mathematics and English.

  • To the adjusted grade mentioned above, 5 or 10 points can be added for passing one or two online courses (MOOC) with a grade of at least 85. Courses are detailed on the registration website..  In addition, a PME score of at least 835 is required as explained above.

  • An adjusted grade (derived from the psychometric score and the matriculation average) that is determined anew each year  and a  psychometric score of 620.
  • A psychometric score of 640 and matriculation average of 95 at least (including bonuses).
  • A particularly high psychometric score of 680 and an Israeli high school matriculation grade or equivalent from abroad that meets Tel Aviv University requirements will grant automatic admission.

 

Admission Without Psychometric Exam:

Admission based on online courses

  • A matriculation (Bagrut) average of at least 104 including bonuses, and 5 units of English with a grade of at least 85 (without bonuses)

And
5 units of Mathematics with a grade of at least 70 (without bonuses) or 4 units with a grade of at least 90 (without bonuses)

And
Two online courses with a grade of at least 85 in each:

  • Introduction to Financial Statements
  • First Steps in Computer Science and Programming in Python

(This course will be recognized for 2 academic hours as an exemption without a grade, within the elective course requirements as defined by the department in its various program combinations.)

 

Exceptions

  • Applicants with a psychometric score of 639 and matriculation average of 94 may submit a special request to the Admissions Committee.
  • Applicants to the accounting program who hold a Bachelor’s degree or a Master degree or an MBA with a GPA of 80-84.99 may submit a special request to the Admissions Committee.   

Applicants with Partial Academic Credentials

In addition to the above requirements, applicants with partial academic credentials must present a GPA of at least 85 in studies from a recognized institution of higher education, calculated on the basis of all studies (which must be at least 30 semester hours in scope), and a psychometric score of at least 640 for Management studies and 630 for Accounting studies. Accounting applicants with a grade point average in a double-major program of 80-84.9 but a particularly high grade in one of the majors may submit an application for special consideration. For Management applicants with credentials in a double-major program, the requirement is a grade point average of 84.5.

 

Applicants with Full Academic Credentials:

 

Accounting (1211)

Holders of an MBA from a recognized university in Israel with an average grade of at least 85.

 

Holders of a Master’s degree with an average grade of at least 85.

 

Holders of a Bachelor’s degree with an average grade of at least 85. Applicants are also required to have taken at least the 4-unit mathematics matriculation examination (out of a maximum of 5 units). 

 

Applicants with a grade point average of 80-84.9 but a particularly high grade in one of the majors may submit an application for special consideration. 

 

For all applicants to Accounting or Management (1211, 1221)

Applicants with full or partial academic education are required to provide records of their studies. Due dates appear in this table Under no circumstances will the Admissions Committee consider applications from applicants submitting grades after these dates.

 

There is no registration in the spring semester.
